Tom Odell Wins Brits Critics’ Choice Award
Singer/Songwriter beats AlunaGeorge and Laura Mvula to win the 2013 award.

Tom Odell has been announced as the first male recipient of the Brits Critics’ Choice Award, winning out over AlunaGeorge and Laura Mvula. The award is for British acts, tipped by critics for mainstream success in the forthcoming year who are yet to release their debut album.
Joining previous winners Emeli Sandé (2012), Jessie J (2011), Ellie Goulding (2010), Florence and the Machine (2009) and Adele (2008), Odell quipped; ‘Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the award already, I just hope I don’t let the boys down.’
Odell, who was originally signed to Lily Rose Cooper’s In The Name Of record label, will release his debut record in spring 2013.
He is due to receive the award at the ceremony on the 20th February at London’s 02 Arena.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
