Unknown Mortal Orchestra share contribution to The National’s Grateful Dead tribute album

The group have delivered a funky version of ‘Shakedown Street’ for ‘Day of The Dead’ release.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra have shared their contribution to The National’s Grateful Dead tribute record ‘Day of The Dead’, delivering a funked-up version of the Dead’s ‘Shakedown Street’.

UMO are one of many bands and artists joining the guest-packed celebration of the group - ‘Shakedown Street’ being one of five songs to be shared today from the 59-track release. Amongst the tracks to be shared today are Perfume Genius and Sharon Van Etten, who have collaborated on ‘To Lay Me Down’ and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, who provided ‘Candyman’.

The newly unveiled tracks follow already shared cuts that included Courtney Barnett and a supergroup collaboration between members of The National and Grizzly Bear.

‘Day of The Dead’ is be released via 4AD on the 20th May. Listen to ‘Shakedown Street’ below.
