Unknown Mortal Orchestra announce instrumental album 'IC-01 Hanoi' • News • DIY Magazine

Unknown Mortal Orchestra may have already released one album this year, but that wasn’t quite enough for Ruban Nielson: now he’s confirmed plans to offer up a new record titled ‘IC-01 Hanoi’.

Fresh from the release of ‘Sex & Food’ back in April, UMO will now offer up the seven-track instrumental album on 26th October, via Jagjaguwar.

The album was recorded in the Vietnamese city of Hanoi at Phu Sa Studios, alongside Nielson’s collaborator Jacob Portrait, his brother Kody and father Chris, with local musician Minh Nguyen helping out, too.

The tracklisting - which is, er, pretty straight-forward considering - is as follows.
