Hallelujah!
Vampire Weekend are actually, definitely going to release something in the next two months
About bloody time, too!
Five (five!) years after last album ‘Modern Vampires of the City’ and following months of speculation as to their seemingly imminent return, it looks like there’s finally some concrete news from Camp Vampire Weekend.
Sony have announced that the New Yorkers have now signed with them (moving away from their former home of XL Recordings), and that there will be a “noteworthy project” coming before the end of Q3 - aka the muso term for the 3rd quarter of the calendar year, which ends on September 30th.
With the band set to headline End of the Road festival on August 30th, their live comeback always suggested that new material would follow suit.
But now we know for sure.
Hooray.
Until then, let’s all just have a bop to ‘Diane Young’ to get in the mood. Woop!
