Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij airs new song ‘Gwan’
He also spun another preview from his forthcoming collaborative album with the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser.

Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij aired two new songs during an appearance on Santa Monica’s KCRW station - a solo track under his Rostam moniker called ‘Gwan,’ and a collaboration with the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser.
On the show, Rostam added that he’s considering releasing solo material in one-off batches for the foreseeable future. Speaking about his involvement with Vampire Weekend (Rostam left the band at the beginning of this year, but will continue to collaborate) he said: “There are no clear lines drawn about what the future holds,” he said. “For me, it meant [being] open to doing stuff with Vampire Weekend, open to doing stuff on my own, to doing stuff with other people. I can’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen in the future, and for me, that’s something that felt necessary to do.”
Moving forward, Rostam and the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser have teamed up for a new collaborative new project, and release their debut LP ‘I Had a Dream That You Were Mine’ ON 23rd September.
Listen to Rostam air both new tracks below. ‘Gwan’ appears 12 minutes in, with the Walkmen collaboration ‘Sick as a Dog’ at 31:13.
