VÉRITÉ shares debut video for ‘Phase Me Out’
She even manages to crack an egg perfectly in time with the lyric “eventually you’ll crack’.
Pop newcomer VÉRITÉ - who first grabbed major attention for her properly ace Kelly Clarkson-tinged cover of ‘Somebody Else’ by The 1975 - has released her first ever music video. It matches up with the propulsive mid-break-up ballad banger ‘Phase Me Out,’ documenting a stagnating relationship turning sour and some very gloomy wallpaper.
Also - top marks for VÉRITÉ, who manages to crack an egg perfectly in time with the lyric “eventually you’ll crack’.
“This is a video I’ve been wanting to make for a while,” says VÉRITÉ, telling Interviewabout her debut music video. “I wanted to mix this mundane boredom with moments of ecstasy and surrealism. For me, the song isn’t specifically about being ‘phased out,’ but more about being caught in my mind, how I draw these invisible lines between myself and the world, and the practical fallout.”
She added that a debut album is due out late Spring 2017 via Kobalt Music. She’s also due to support Betty Who on tour, and plays a London headline show at The Forge on April 6th.
