There’s something in the air at the moment - musicians everywhere are surprise-releasing things left, right, and centre. Next to join the made-you-jump club with an unexpected release, it’s Vic Mensa; putting out his out of the blue EP ‘There’s A Lot Going On’ this afternoon.

It’s a varied release - angrily calling out the police over the death of black teenager Laquan McDonald on ‘16 Shots’ one moment, and the next, dropping a choice lyric like “get your priorities straight like Hermione Granger,” casually into the mix with a straight face.
