Watch a Talking Heads concert recorded in the ’80s
Footage of a 1980 show in New Jersey has recently surfaced online.
A recording of a Talking Heads concert in 1980 has been discovered online. Recorded at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey, the video takes in a full performance from the group whilst touring to support their ‘Remain In Light’ album. The performance is aided by Parliament/Funkadelic member Bernie Worrell as well as King Crimson’s Adrian Bellew, who played guitar live for the group.
At the time of the recording, the venue was one of the few establishments to install and record performances using a multi-camera video system. David Byrne et al perform classic tracks from their catalogue, including ‘Once In A Lifetime’, ‘Life During Wartime’, ‘Take Me To The River’ and ‘Psycho Killer’. Until now, the recording was previously unseen for 35 years, four years before the group released their concert film ‘Stop Making Sense’ in 1984.
