Watch: Bon Iver Covers The Band’s ‘Ophelia’

Footage of Bon Iver performing a touching tribute to The Band’s drummer Levon Helm who passed away earlier this week has surfaced online, courtesy of Hidden Track.

Bon Iver performed The Band’s ‘Ophelia’ to an audience at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco a few days ago.

Bon Iver has recently collaborated with The Flaming Lips for their Record Store Day offering. ‘Ashes In The Air’ is a super-psychedelic number, combining Wayne Coyne and co.’s flashy futuristic outlook with Justin Vernon’s part-falsetto, part-autotuned vocals. It also features plenty of expletives, which may come as a surprise.

‘The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends’ will also feature the likes of Ke$ha, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Nick Cave, Yoko One, Edward Sharpe, Erykah Badu, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and several more. More details on the album can be found here.
