Watch Charli XCX make SNL debut with ‘Boom Clap’ and ‘Break The Rules’

Charli XCX made a brilliant debut on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Love, showcasing two tracks from her new album ‘SUCKER’.

With loveable hobbit / Sherlock sidekick Martin Freeman acting as host, Charli took to the stage to perform two songs, ‘Boom Clap’ and ‘Break the Rules’. Both were performed with an all-female band, each member donning a grey tuxedo and gelled-back hair.

Watch both performances below. ‘SUCKER’ is out Tuesday 16th December in North America, 19th January in the UK.

Ahead of her SNL performance, Charli took part in a (since removed, for some reason) Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, where she confirmed the following:

- She’s working with Young Gud in the Swedish countryside next January - “something good’s gonna happen,” she says.

- She’s still planning on releasing the “punk album” that she’s made, separate to ‘SUCKER’.

- What it was like to work with Gwen Stefani: “She’s such an incredible woman, I went separately and worked on some stuff with Benny Blanco and others and she came later.”

- She once received a blow-up Justin Bieber doll as a present.
