Watch Father John Misty perform ‘I Went To The Store One Day’ for La Blogotheque
Track from ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ gets an airing in a Paris restaurant.
On the day of his new album release, Father John Misty is airing a ‘Take Away Show’ session for France site La Blogothèque.
Taken from his ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ LP, the track gained an airing in Paris restaurant Le Bon Georges, with Josh Tillman’s wife watching from a distance. The track itself is about Josh’s first encounter with Emma, where they first crossed lines in a supermarket parking lot.
Earnest to the extreme, you can watch his La Blogothèque set below.
‘I Love You, Honeybear’ is out now on Bella Union and Sub Pop. DIY’s review says it “serves as a proper coming out party, where ostensibly we hear directly from the man himself… The album’s highlights all stems from Tillman extrapolating on what happens next - how do you entertain original thoughts after ceding to societal norms like love and marriage? For Tillman it means throwing barbs at those who trade knowledge for comfort.”
Alongside the session, Father John Misty’s announced a new date at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, taking place 29th October. Tickets are on sale from 9am, Friday 13th February.
