Watch Foo Fighters join Tony Joe White on Letterman for ‘Polk Salad Annie’
See the band perform their third of five performances on the Late Show.
Last night, Foo Fighters made their third successive appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Each night this week they’ll be performing with an American legend, tying in with their love letter to the States, ‘Sonic Highways’.
Yesterday saw them playing with Tony Joe White to perform his own celebrated hit, ‘Polk Salad Annie’. Previously, they played alongside Heart’s ‘Kick It Out’, while covering Black Sabbath on the Monday night. Here’s to hoping Dolly Parton makes some kind of an appearance.
‘Sonic Highways’ arrives in the form of an LP and a new documentary, which sees the band landing in different US cities to record, while Grohl interviews musical legends from different sides of the country.
Each episode is devoted to a different musical landmark in the U.S. - Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C. It’s set to air on BBC Four from Sunday 26th October.
This week they’ll play Chicago’s The Cubby Bear on Friday 17th October, with tickets on sale today. It’s an HBO Presents gig, with the ‘Sonic Highways’ documentary gaining its first play.
