Watch: Future Islands Unveil ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’
Baltimore group have confirmed UK dates, including Brighton’s Great Escape.
Prolific Baltimore group Future Islands have recently signed to 4AD for their fourth album, ‘Singles’. Their expansive, adventurous and growl-tastic take on pop doesn’t look like shifting, though, as evidenced by new single ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’.
This is the first track to be unveiled from the record. It arrives alongside a cowboy-centric video directed by Jay Buim, the band’s regular visual collaborator. The song itself is vintage Future Islands (if there’s such a thing), Samuel T. Herring belting out every single word like it’s the last one he’ll every have the privilege to sing. Dramatic stuff.
Future Islands have also announced a couple more UK dates, on top of their London Hoxton Bar & Kitchen date for 11th February. See their full schedule on future-islands.com.
The band play:
07 London, Electric Ballroom
08 Manchester, Sound Control
10 Brighton, The Great Escape
‘Singles’ is released on 24th March.

4 Stars
While the music is a little more inward, more reserved, it still carries all the hallmarks of the signature Future Islands sound.
