is capable of many, many things: Growing his hair long without looking too scruffy; smiling while also not smiling too much; making an hour-spanning album’s worth of sleepy tunes that somehow doesn’t tire. Hence why it’s Kurt Vile day tomorrow (28th August).

Vile’s turned his hand to an old Trent Reznor classic in a cover for AV Club. Nine Inch Nails’ 1989 track ‘Down In It’ is stripped of its chamber-house terror, instead being turned into a manic, fuzz-hooked monster of a song.
