Watch: Matthew Dear Reveals Album Trailer
The full-length will be released on 27th August via Ghostly International.

Matthew Dear has unveiled a trailer for his forthcoming album release ‘Beams’ - watch it above. The full-length will be released on 27th August via Ghostly International, and will be available on CD, digital download and vinyl.
Of his fourth album, Dear says: “I try to write straight forward pop music but it always comes out askew and off-kilter. I will say that ‘Beams’ is a turn toward the proverbial light. The songs on this album are the most honest I’ve written yet. Most of them are still entwined in a cryptic lyrical mesh that I won’t figure out for another few years or so, but trust me, the mesh is honest.”
‘Beams’ was recorded in Dear’s home studio and mixed at Nicolas Vernhes’ (Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors) Rare Book Room studios in Brooklyn. It follows on from 2010’s ‘Black City’.
