Drum-off: Watch Metallica’s Lars Ulrich join Royal Blood onstage

Show took place in San Francisco this week.
Lars Ulrich and Brighton two-piece Royal Blood rekindled their friendship earlier this week, when the Metallica drummer joined the duo on stage at a San Francisco gig.
Ulrich first met Royal Blood when he showed them round ‘Mrs Doubtfire’’s house - that was after their previous San Francisco show, last September.
This time round, Lars joined Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher on stage for the close of their show. Regular Royal Blood drummer Thatcher used the collab as an opportunity to ditch his kit and take to a crowd-surf.
Footage of Royal Blood being joined onstage by Lars Ulrich can be seen below. Royal Blood’s only UK festival date this summer is at Reading & Leeds (28th-30th August).
