Watch Run the Jewels meet the Kickstarter fan responsible for ‘Meow the Jewels’

It’s no longer a question of whether ‘Meow the Jewels’ is happening - that thing’s a long way past $40,000 target. El-P’s been dead set on making it for weeks. It’ll be out very soon.

Before it’s out, a new documentary’s emerged showing Run the Jewels meeting up with the man behind the Kickstarter, Sly Jones. This Phoenix call centre worker was responsible for starting the fund and driving it to its eventual target.

Speaking to Jones, El-P confirmed that any eventual record will 100% make ‘RTJ2’ opener ‘Jeopardy’ out of cat sounds. Previously, he claimed that Geoff Barrow and Zola Jesus will be amongst those on the record - in this new record, he confirmed that “luckily, I’ve got enough producers on board where I’ve pretty much mapped it out. Everyone else is gonna suffer with me.”
