Watch: Sigur Ros Unveil Final ‘Valtari Mystery’ Film

The sixteenth, and final, instalment of Sigur Ros’ Valtari Mystery Film Experiment has been unveiled.

Titled ‘Leaning Towards Solace’, the twelve minute clip seemingly bears the most ambition and melancholic beauty. Directed by Floria Sigismondi - who previously worked on their video for ‘Vaka’ - the clip consists mainly of sweeping shots of roughened landscapes, and emotionally heavy character portrayals. Our main protagonists are the young, ballet dancing daughter (played by Elle Fanning) and her troubled father, as portrayed by John Hawkes.

Featuring two songs, ‘Dauðalogn’ and ‘Varúð’, to accompany its twelve minutes of length, you can watch the full clip below. And believe us, the ending is more than unexpected.



To mark the final instalment of the experiment, a series of screenings have been planned to showcase all sixteen of the short films. A handful of these screenings are due to take place around the UK, beginning today, as below.
