Watch The National play ‘Day I Die’ on Colbert
Their new album ‘Sleep Well Beast’ is out today!

Happy ‘Sleep Well Beast’ release day!
With the release of what might be The National’s best album in a few years, the band themselves recently hit ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ to perform a blistering version of their recent single ‘Day I Die’. It features a pretty dramatic change of lighting style halfway through (from blue and ambient to plain and stark in pretty much the blink of an eye), as well as Matt Berninger’s now-signature dad dancing style (can’t get enough of that).
Today The National also revealed a behind the scenes VR video that takes viewers inside the making of ‘Sleep Well Beast’, as well as to one of their own gigs in Copenhagen. If you want to see them in full 360º (and lets be honest, why wouldn’t you?), then head to the New York Times.
