Watch: The Very Best Announce New Album With ‘Yoshua Alikuti’ Video
Amadou & Mariam, Baaba Maal and K’naan will appear on the album amongst others.
The Very Best have revealed plans to release a new album, ‘MTMTMK’, via Moshi Moshi on 16th July 2012.
‘MTMTMK’ was recorded over five weeks in Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya’s hometown of Lilongwe. His bandmate, Swedish producer Johan Hugo, notes “We had to make a big step with the second album, we had to evolve.
“This time we wrote, produced and recorded together simultaneously — the way it should be done. It was a much more collaborative effort.”
Amadou & Mariam, Baaba Maal and K’naan will appear on the album as collaborators, amongst others.
