Everybody doin' it
Watch the video for Run The Jewels’ ‘Lie, Cheat, Steal’
The duo’s politically-charged track gets a trippy visual.
Run The Jewels have shared a video for ‘Lie, Cheat, Steal’, a track taken from their recent album ‘RTJ2’.
Directed by Ruffmercy, the duo are backed by a RTJ graffiti wall, trippy lyrics floating by their side. It’s shot in a lurid filter that reacts vividly with El-P and Killer Mike’s movement and verses across the screen. Of course, it wouldn’t be a political statement without the two of them donning some presidential masks at the chorus.
Run The Jewels are also the subject of an interactive documentary by the BBC called ’The Backstage Pass’. Check out the experimental feature on the BBC website here and watch the video for ‘Lie, Cheat, Steal’ below. Run The Jewels are also releasing a cat-sound remix album of ‘RTJ2’ this year after achieving a Kickstarter goal late in 2014 - ‘Meow the Jewels’ is imminent.
