Watch Washed Out Perform ‘All I Know’ On Letterman

It’s hard to say what’s weirder: That it’s taken this long for Washed Out to make his television debut, or that it’s even happened at all. It’s only a couple of years since Ernest Greene was trying to rid himself of a chillwave tag. Since then he’s built a studio, signed to Domino imprint Weird World and released a fully-fledged sonic template (as in: Really pretty sounding album) with ‘Paracosm’.

Recreating so many ridiculous textures at once is no easy feat, which might explain why it’s been several months between ‘Paracosm’ and now, Greene’s television debut on Letterman. Performing ‘All I Know’, the song experiences a couple of hiccups but it’s still a big, momentous occasion for a guy who’s only heading forwards.
