Watch Years & Years cover Haim’s ‘Don’t Save Me’
The band appeared on the Live Lounge after being crowned the Sound of 2015 winner.

This morning brought the news that current DIY cover stars, Years & Years, were top of this year’s BBC Sound Of… poll, which asks a long list of music industry types about who they think will be big in the coming year.
Speaking to the BBC upon their win - which comes just days after sharing brand new number ‘King’ - the band said: “We can’t really get our heads round it, Olly nearly passed out when we found out, it was so surreal and emotional. It feels like it means we’ve got a real shot, which means the world to us. People are going to listen to what we’re going to do, and we’ve just got to not muck it up. We’ve got to make the most of it and deliver.”

They then joined BBC Radio’s Alice Levine in the Live Lounge earlier today, where they played their own ‘Desire’ alongside a cover form a previous winner.
Haim topped the poll in 2013, and it was their ‘Don’t Save Me’ that Olly and co put their stamp on. Watch below.

HAIM: Calling It Quits
Now over a decade into their career, HAIM have long since hit their stride — and, having already spent years navigating the industry’s infamous fickleness, on fourth record ‘I quit’ they literally “don’t give a fuck”. With a period of break-ups, overthinking, and crippling self-doubt now behind them, the LA sisters are letting their hair down, ready to abandon fear and embrace a summer of vulnerability, freedom, and fun.
