Pick Of The Year(s & Years)
Years & Years top the BBC Sound of 2015
DIY’s current cover stars have beaten off the likes of James Bay and Stormzy to take the title.

James Bay and his hat were no threat to Years & Years after all: the trio have just taken the title of this year’s BBC Sound of 2015.
The current DIY cover stars - who were also named as star students in our Class of 2015 - have beaten off the likes of Bay, who was recently awarded the BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice, Stormzy, Raury and George The Poet to reach the top of the critic-voted list.
Speaking to the BBC upon their win - which comes just days after unleashing brand new track ‘King’ onto the world - the band have said: “We can’t really get our heads round it, Olly nearly passed out when we found out, it was so surreal and emotional. It feels like it means we’ve got a real shot, which means the world to us. People are going to listen to what we’re going to do, and we’ve just got to not muck it up. We’ve got to make the most of it and deliver.”
While their debut album is still currently in the works, the three-piece will be releasing their new single, the aforementioned ‘King’, on 1st March through Polydor. It follows on from their storming ‘Desire’, and will land in the middle of their upcoming UK headline tour.
