Calm under pressure
We Were Promised Jetpacks preview new album with ‘I Keep It Composed’
Scottish doom-mongers have a new album out this October.
A second track has emerged from ‘Unravelling’, the brand new album from doom-mongering Scots We Were Promised Jetpacks.
‘I Keep It Composed’ links up with the previously shared ‘Safety in Numbers’ in previewing the record. True to its title, it offers a more structured version of WWPJ’s usually far-reaching, wild and free take on alternative rock. There tends to be wails, Scottish-dialect cries - this one’s more devoted to chugging bass lines and lyrics about being “acutely aware of the danger.” There’s still a vital underlying darkness to the piece - it’s an impressive taste of the new LP.
‘Unravelling’ is out 14th October via FatCat Records.
