Whitney are releasing an album of ‘Light Upon The Lake’ demo versions
They’ve also shared previously unreleased track, ‘You and Me’.
It’s been a year and three months – yes, seriously, that long – since Whitney released their debut album ‘Light Upon The Lake’. Where does the time go, eh?
Since releasing the LP, the band have toured relentlessly and popped up at festivals all over the place. Now, they’ve announced plans to release an album of demo versions. ‘Light Upon The Lake: Demo Recordings’ will be out on 10th November via Secretly Canadian.
To coincide with the announcement, the band have shared a previously unreleased song, ‘You and Me’. It was born from some of the earliest sessions that led up to ‘Light Upon The Lake’ in 2014 and 2015, and captures the vintage, lilting yet uplifting sound that Whitney perfected on their debut album with just some slightly rougher, lo-fi edges.
