WHY? share new 360° video for ‘This Ole King’
Yoni Wolf and co will also be headed off on a big European tour in May and June.
With new album ‘Moh Lhean’ just a week away, WHY? have
shared a brand new, 360° video for their track ‘This Ole King’.
As well as being in 360° vision, director Scott Fredette has
also used stop motion, 2D green-screen effects and motion graphics to craft the
fully interactive video, where you can fully immerse yourself in the events.
Yoni Wolf is dressed in a suit of stars through the power of technology as
people in hazmat suits deal with the aftermath of what appears to be a massive
explosion. And there’s a strange building shaped like a shark for some reason.
In a statement, Fredette said: “The video was such an
interesting process to execute as we experimented with how to use and
manipulate the 360 degree frame in unique ways. It is cool to be able to
immerse yourself in somewhat grim but surreal environment in which the video
takes place. We pushed that look and it’s fun to watch.”
If you can take your eyes off the video for a minute or two,
then WHY? have also announced a bunch of European tour dates taking place in
May and June. After playing in France, on their UK leg of their tour, they’ll
head to Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and London before
heading back to the continent to perform in Belgium, Germany and the
Netherlands.
