Wild Beasts announce live studio album ‘Last Night All My Dreams Came True’ as part of Domino Documents
Listen to ‘The Devil’s Palace’, the first track from the collection, a mash-up of ‘The Devil’s Crayon’ and ‘Palace’.
Wild Beasts are set to play their final shows in February (we’re still sad, ok), and they’ve announced one final release before they call it a day.
The band shared a new EP called ‘Punk Drunk And Trembling’ - formed of offcuts from last year’s ‘Boy King’ LP - back in October, and are now set to contribute to their label Domino’s ongoing Domino Documents series.
With Julia Holter already contributing to the series, Wild Beasts will now release ‘Last Night All My Dreams Came True’, a live studio album of tracks spanning their discography, recorded live at the RAK Studios.
The release will come out on 16th February, the day before their final show at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
“It’s us as tight and slick as we ever have been,” says Tom Fleming of the new record in a press release.
“And it’s also us giving the fewest fucks we’ve ever given. There’s a sense of celebration and destructiveness combined, a sense that the fetters are off. Not that they were ever on … but that sense of limited time before you shuffle off is very much a motivator.”
“We get to leave our desk by our own accord,” Hayden Thorpe says of the band’s split, with no hiatus in sight. “And that makes us very lucky. Whoever gets to do that?”
The band have shared the first track from the release, called ‘The Devil’s Palace’, a mash-up of ‘The Devil’s Crayon’ from the band’s 2008 debut ‘Limbo, Panto’ and ‘Palace’ from 2014’s ‘Present Tense’.
