William Arcane previews new EP with ‘Sunfades’
South London producer recently collaborated with The Acid’s Nalepa.
It’s been a busy, head-turning week for experimental producer William Arcane. A couple of days back, a searing, dagger-sharp collaboration with Nalepa (from The Acid) emerged, and now the South Londoner’s sharing a brand new take from his ‘Reckless’ EP.
‘Sunfades’ is a gloomy-eyed cut that spends most of its time trying to fight through the fog. Female vocals back bittersweet verses, which in turn rise up into a thick fog of electronics that bit-by-bit gives way to precious space. Comparisons to Thom Yorke are ablaze, but Arcane’s vocals also sound similar to Foals’ Yannis Phillippakis when he’s not screaming his lungs apart.
The new track links up with ‘Stay a While’ in previewing the EP, due out via Pictures Music on 20th October.
