Wu Lyf Say ‘Goodbye Forever’, Quickly Retract

Bassist Tom McClung reckons singer Ellery Roberts was exaggerating.

After suggesting it might be their swan song at their recent home town gig at the Ritz in Manchester, Wu Lyf’s vocalist Ellery Roberts further fuelled rumours the band were about to call it quits after telling gig-goers at Heaven in London last night, ‘Goodbye forever’.

However, just minutes later, bandmate and bassist Tom McClung told NME that isn’t the case - they’re just young, time lasts for ages.

He told the magazine:

‘When we talk about things, it’s always in a forever sense. If you’re our age, a year is a long time. You live a different life each year. We like to create a bit of drama, that’s what excites me to play every night. It’d be boring to just say ‘see ya next year’.’

The band are due to play dates across mainland Europe and North America later this year - including an appearance at Coachella festival next month.

Their North American dates are:

APRIL
17 San Francisco, CA, The Independent
23 Washington, DC, Rock ‘N’ Roll Hotel
24 Philadelphia, PA, Union Transfer
26 Brooklyn, NY, Music Hall of Williamsburg
27 New York, NY, Bowery Ballroom
28 Boston, MA, Brighton Music Hall
