Young Guns announce new album ‘Ones and Zeros’

The band will follow up their second record ‘Bones’ this June.

Young Guns have announced plans to release their brand new album later this year.

The five-piece, who have been working on the record over the past year, have confirmed that they’ll follow up their 2012 effort ‘Bones’ with ‘Ones and Zeros’ this June.

The first new taste of their forthcoming third album is due to be aired this evening on BBC Radio 1, when it gets played as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record. ‘Speaking In Tongues’ - which follows their previous track ‘I Want Out’ - will act as a prelude to the record, which will be released on 8th June through Virgin EMI.

“In the beginning,” frontman Gus Young told DIY during the writing process for their new record, “we were struggling to write music that excited us because the things we were writing - or we felt we should be writing - were sounding like songs that could’ve gone on the last record. That wasn’t something that we were interested in doing at all, we wanted this one to be a separate entity. We definitely looked in different places for inspiration on this record.”
