Baddies - Bronto

‘Bronto’ was definitely bred at the radio-friendly stable on the UK indie farm.

‘Bronto’ is the first single off of the forthcoming album, ‘Build’, by Southend-based indie rock band Baddies. The track has already been receiving some attention on daytime Radio 1, so where have you been, Grandad? Try to keep up.

While ‘Bronto’ was definitely bred at the radio-friendly stable on the UK indie farm, this is a single for people who like their indie rock on the lairy side, with gang vocals, punk-rock guitars and open-hat beats.

Luckily, Baddies seem to have avoided the fate of other ‘punkish’ indie bands before them (The Automatic, anyone?), and have kept ‘Bronto’’s shout-a-long chorus on the right side of eye-forkingly irritating, although the lyrics aren’t exactly challenging.

This isn’t the point, though, as the words are just something to bellow over the silly, Atari-sounding synth until you can go nuts during the super-fuzzy guitar break. Not so Baddy at all.
