Boy Crisis - Dressed To Digress
4 StarsFunky, dirty and oozing with sex, this track is electro at its most appetising.
Apparently, music journalists are to refer to this ‘Brooklyn buzz band’ as ‘danceable’ with ‘pop hooks’, or so their MySpace instructions read. To be fair, those are fairly accurate as descriptions go.
Comparisons have been overzealously drawn to college-mates MGMT. They don’t do them justice. With a darker, richer sound than their peers, Boy Crisis deserve to standalone with latest single ‘Dressed to Digress’. Funky, dirty and oozing with sex, this track is electro at its most appetising. Exotic, erotic lyrics met with heavy-breathing and impossible-not-to-dance-to electronic beats make for an intoxicating concoction.
They’re hotly tipped for 2009 after causing an unimaginable stir in the A&R crowd, Boy Crisis are certainly going in the ones to watch pile.
