are so impossibly young they’re barely potty trained, and vocalist Daniel Blumberg hasn’t yet moved on to joined-up handwriting.
Although it would be great to consider the London-based quintet’s work without making reference to their youth, it’s practically impossible, because it’s due to it that - four singles in from their debut album of the same name - they sound just as fresh as when you first heard them.
‘The Colourful Life’ may not have the immediacy of ‘The Next Untouchable’ or the innocence of ‘Amylase’, but it’s a grower of near epic proportions. The boyish vocals, the playful lyrics: it’s dangerously close to being saccharine-sweet, but remains just the right side of ‘cute’.
