Cat House - Tribe

A lush soundscape, coupled with synthesized handclaps.

‘Tribe’

provides us with a lush soundscape, coupled with synthesized handclaps and a funky bassline that gives you the notion that it is finally cool to make danceable music again. Cat House are teasing – only momentarily though; the first eight seconds causes you to wonder if you’re about to participate in an aerobics session and then the introduction of some space-age synths leads you into believing that you’re in for three minutes of electronic niceties. Cue the thirty second mark however, and the electronic lushness is replaced by thundering funky bass, dancing live drums and vocalist Christian declaring repeatedly that his ‘heart beats like a military drum’. It’s only then that you finally get a taste of what Cat House are trying to achieve here. They simply want you to get up onto the dance / kitchen / lounge / bedroom floor and strut your stuff! Cat House are rapidly proving that they could soon be giving Friendly Fires a run for their money, providing of course that they keep churning out polished electro-dance gems such as this.
