‘Bracing For Impact’ sees CATTY embracing ‘70s pop rock, fusing the decade’s penchant for ornate pomp with contemporary pop maximalism. ‘Prized Possession’ makes like the hardest, heaviest track Lady Gaga never wrote, while ‘4am (Back In His Bed)’ builds to a stunning, soulful climax that’s akin to tears on the dancefloor in the early hours. Culminating in the subtly complex ballad ‘Man On The Run’, this EP is a big, brash and proudly queer collection that’s heartfelt and messy in a deeply endearing – and true-to-life – manner.
