’s first release after their self-titled debut album sees them expanding their sound a tad in the lead up to their next LP. According to the press pack, there’s also ‘plenty of touring’. The end of Summer doesn’t seem too bad now.
‘I Hate This, Do You Like It?’ sounds too ridiculous at first, but once you get a taste for sabotage (should happen around a minute in) you grow to love it. Next up, ‘Son of Cern’ pounds out some almost abstract drum rhythms, before straightening itself out with some angular guitar and screaming… Bracing. The final track of the three, ‘Nasa Vs Esa’, seems like a nod to the more classic metal sounds, but it still maintains the jagged edge that lines every song on the EP. Oh, and there’s more screaming here too. Kinda different screaming though. As you can tell, we are not real metal fans.
Nevertheless, we’re off to get tickets for their live show…
