If you happen to fall in with the indie music snob club, then ‘Night Air’ is likely one of those songs you’ll be able to tick off as a guilty pleasure. Sure, the breathy intro may be a little sappy, but really, after repeated listens, Jamie Woon’s latest single is so hauntingly catchy that there should be no shame in liking a song that so drips with saccharine.
As such, the sugar-coated track shows Woon donning emotions on his sleeve, from seductive, whispered trembles to a soaring chorus that matches the subtle r’n’b beats. All this opens the colorful possibilities of what a night can bring, and the humdrum realities of any given day.
Woon clearly favors a moonlit night, and the urgency for which he pines for it make this track accessible to just about everyone: nocturnal, diurnal, music snob or maybe even a big snob in general.
