With their first single, their chance to announce themselves to the world, Morning Parade have done a damn good job. Synths galore, occasional soaring vocal lines and a memorable chorus make for this being one hell of a pleasing debut.
The soft vocal intro is accompanied by a mellow synth line that carefully builds into full blown pop; ‘Under The Stars’ is a definite grower. It’s not the most cutting edge sound, but it carefully avoids sounding too much like any of the band’s closest peers. The vocals might not be the most powerful and the lyrics are by no means poetry, but what they are instead is catchy.
This is self-declared music for the masses: a well rounded anthemic sound from a fresh faced band who won’t rest until they’re either headlining a festival or topping the charts. ‘Under The Stars’ gives us a glimpse of this determination, and already it’s clear they’re a band that isn’t going to let up any time soon.
