Had ‘So Called Summer’ been released a bit earlier, heaven knows it would have been the Summer anthem, seeping deep into the public conscious; instead it’s just a very pure slice of agreeable pop.
Of course, a good song doesn’t need seasons for relevancy and this is no different. ‘When will my Summer ever come?’ is exactly the kind of sentiment that will win you the Captain James T. Obvious award, but it doesn’t make it any less fun.
Married to the brisk chorus, some very catchy verses should make sure Kaiser Chiefs are looking on in envy. Team Waterpolo have the opportunity to become Britain’s premier pop band.
