This Will Destroy You - Black Dunes
It’s very dark, very loud and very epic, as you’d expect.

Having recently been released as a special edition 7” vinyl, ‘Black Dunes’ is the second single, of sorts, from the Texan four-piece’s fantastic second album, ‘Tunnel Blanket’. The track starts with eerie guitar and keyboard soundscapes, accompanied by a sparse drumbeat. It makes you feel almost as if you’re traveling through space, alone, and you’re lost. There’s a real emptiness to it. And if we’re to continue this space metaphor, at 3:30 it all goes tits up. Aliens attack; everything explodes and continues to explode before right at the end of the track, it stops exploding.
Essentially, on ‘Black Dunes’, This Will Destroy You stick to what they know best. Creating a heart wrenching sense of emotion, before making a massive amount of very loud, but equally haunting and beautiful noise about half way through. And the result, well the result is bloody good if you ask me. Feeling lost in space has never been so desirable.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
