Lifted from their fourth studio album released in June; this rip-roaring track shows that this far down the line We Are Scientists have lost none of their charm and are as relevant as they’ve ever been.
Clocking in at just under three minutes, ‘I Don’t Bite’ is short, sweet and to the point. It’s edgier than the usual output by WAS thanks to the angular guitars and thundering percussion, though fear not still present are the band’s staple soaring choruses; this is We Are Scientists, but maybe not-quite-as we know them.
The track’s altogether as infectious as expected, packing an impressive punch to boot. It can at some points, due to those classic choruses begin to feel a little dated and scarily similar to past releases, thankfully all is not lost as when those instruments kick in they make the track sound fresh enough to warrant repeated listens.
We Are Scientists are still going strong and ‘I Don’t Bite’ proves it. Despite the title suggesting to the contrary, they’ve still got a hell of a bite left in them.
