Fiancé air new video for ‘Era’, announce first UK shows
Delaware band’s debut EP is due out this autumn.
Fans of unhinged escapism need only find refuge in Fiancé, a Delaware band readying the release of their first EP, ‘EP1’. It’s a release that checks in at guitar-led escape (by way of Wild Nothing and DIIV), but there’s a further desire to break free from convention - lead track ‘Era’ even sounds mildly like something Anthony Gonzalez might share if M83 decided to swap the odd synth for an effects pedal.
The track itself links up with ‘Ivy’ - which premiered on DIY last month - and it’s arrived with a new video, which sees Andrew Fusca and co. surrounded by suitably dreamy imagery. Jonathan Keegan directs a video that favours fuzzy VHS quality, while visiting local lakes and diving straight into the band’s own, dimly-lit studio process.
Alongside the new video, Fiancé have announced plans to play their first ever UK shows. Those dates are as follows:
OCTOBER
07 London, Old Blue Last
10 London, KOKO (Club NME)
‘EP1’ is out 7th October via SQE.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
