My Morning Jacket announce new album ‘The Waterfall’

My Morning Jacket have announced plans to release their new album, ‘The Waterfall’, this May.

Following on from the band debuting a new track back at the start of last month, the Kentucky five-piece have now firmed up plans to follow up their 2011 offering ‘Circuital’.

Recorded at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, in California, ‘The Waterfall’ is set for release on 4th May through ATO Records and saw Tucker Martine returning to the production seat.

Speaking of the effect that their choice of location had on the record, the band’s frontman Jim James has said: “For me, every record has the spirit of where we made it. Stinson Beach was so psychedelic and focused. It was almost like we lived on our own little moon out there. It feels like you’re up in the sky.”
