The waiting game
Kanye West gives ‘SWISH’ update, says he wants to “take some time” on the LP
New album could arrive later than expected.
Kanye West has given another update on his forthcoming ‘SWISH’ album, suggesting that it might not land as soon as expected.
Speaking to Hot 97’s Ebro and Nessa, he spoke about his current commitments - from music to family - and how he saw the rest of the year panning out. “I really wanna go away, like I been doing a lot of features, right now I just want to take some time to focus on my album, my next collection and North’s birthday,” he told the station. “Just focus on my family and then be able to recharge and reenergize and bring something of value.”
‘SWISH’ has been rumoured to come out as an exclusive on Apple Music, and Yeezy was said to be in negotiations with the company as recently as this week. The last taste of the record emerged when Win Butler DJ’ed a new song under his Windows 97 guise, giving hints that the record could land before Kanye’s headline slot at Glastonbury 2015.
