Radiohead will tour next year, says Thom Yorke

Last night on BBC Radio 1, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke co-hosted a full three hour show with Benji B. The presenter asked him about the band’s tour plans in future, and he confirmed that Radiohead will continue to play shows in 2017.

Looking beyond the band’s upcoming appearance at Austin City Limits, Thom Yorke said “and then there’s a break, and then we’ll do some more next year, but I don’t know exactly what yet.”

He also told Benji B that once Radiohead touring winds down, and Flea is less busy bass-slapping his way around the world with Red Hot Chili Peppers, he’d like to get back together with his other project Atoms For Peace. He also revealed he’s been collaborating with both Four Tet and Burial, and hilariously - given he basically invented the bloody things - Thom Yorke slagged off surprise album releases.

Elsewhere on the show, he gave Girl Band a nod of approval (“This is me and my son’s favorite music at the moment,” he said, conjuring up images of the Yorke household moshing to ‘Pears For Lunch’) and upon hearing Vince Staples for the first time, commented “that was great, man”.
