End of line
Daft Punk have no touring plans in 2017, apparently
According to one of those mysterious “industry sources,” those Reddit rumours are unfounded.
Dang and blast - it turns out those Daft Punk rumours are probably untrue.
Gossip goats (xoxo) of the world were bleating with glee earlier this week when an eagle-eyed Reddit user spotted that the Lollapalooza festival website has a tag created for Daft Punk. Given that the page was built in February this year, they suggested that it could be in preparation for an appearance from the robotic duo come 2017. It would certainly line up with previous touring patterns; the band typically do a full tour every ten years, with their last being in 2007.
However, Consequence of Sound reports that an “industry source” (yep, one of those) has told them it’s all unfounded. Apparently Daft Punk have no plans to perform live next summer. But who knows, we might ‘Get Lucky’ (ahem).
Basically, who bloody knows, since Daft Punk’s representatives have declined to comment.
There may not be any touring plans, but the French electro-heads are in music-mode at least; most recently they teamed up with The Weeknd for his new track ‘Starboy’. Listen to that below.
