Alabama Shakes to return with first new album in over a decade, ‘I Must Be Dreaming’
The trio will release their follow-up to 2015’s ‘Sound & Colour’ later this summer.
Currently in the midst of their first live shows together since going on hiatus in 2018, Alabama Shakes have now officially announced plans to release their brand new album this summer.
The band - who originally hail from Athens, Alabama and made their name on the bluesy garage rock of albums ‘Boys & Girls’ and ‘Sound & Colour’ - have confirmed details of their first album in over a decade; their third LP ‘I Must Be Dreaming’ is set for release on 28th August via Island.
Recorded in Nashville at Sound Emporium Studios and Blackbird Studio and produced by both the band and producer Shawn Everett, the eleven-track record will include recent single ‘America Dream’, which landed back in April, alongside a new track, ‘I Feel Hope Coming’, which is set for release this Friday (10th July). “This younger generation makes me feel hopeful because they can see through all the political lies - that song’s about holding onto that hope, and refusing to give up,” the band’s Brittany Howard has said, of the track. Heath Fogg adds, “I’m really happy that song exists. It came from such a joyful moment of collaboration, and exemplifies everything I love about this band being reborn.”
