Bristol duo Getdown Services serve up newest single ‘Cha Cha Slide’
The band’s forthcoming new album, ‘Massive Champion’, is set for release on 14th August.

Bristol duo Getdown Services have shared another preview of their forthcoming second album, this time in the evocatively-titled ‘Cha Cha Slide’ (but it’s not exactly what you’d expect).
The band - who are gearing up to release ‘Massive Champion’ on 14th August via Breakfast Records - have shared another deliciously sardonic cut that is, according to the band’s Josh Law, “about the feeling of everyone else somehow knowing what to do. It’s about a feeling I’d get as a child that has never quite left me; that I just don’t really know what to do at social occasions. It’s about realising that trying to connect with and understand people is a lifetime of trial and error. It’s probably the saddest song we’ve ever written.” Watch the Minion-starring video for the track below.
The follow up to their 2023 debut ‘Crisps’ (as well as a spate of EPs: 2024’s ‘Crumbs’ and ‘Your Medal’s In The Post’; and 2025’s ‘Primordial Slot Machine’ and ‘Crumbs 2’), the band’s new full-length promises to be another expansion of the irrepressible Bristol duo’s uncynically joyful singular world.
Written between bouts of relentless touring - for which the pair, Josh Law and Ben Sadler, have become renowned - the record has been described by Getdown as a project “about self pity and realising that maybe all of the healing your inner child stuff you hear about isn’t actually total bollocks. Musically and lyrically I think it’s about us trying to clean up our act a bit.”
The duo are currently in the midst of a hefty run of live shows, including a variety of festival appearances, before they head out on a UK and Ireland headline tour later in 2027. Check out their upcoming schedule below.
