Gorillaz share ‘The Book Of Noodle’ origin story
After getting all nostalgic on social media, the group seem to now be using it to point to the future. New material imminent, perhaps?
Looks like we might be a little bit closer to new Gorillaz material - they’ve changed tact on social media.
After using it to post all sorts of nostalgic stuff the other week, they’ve now swapped those posts for something entirely different. Called ‘The Book Of Noodle’, it’s an origin a story for the character, spread across a number of tweets. Fittingly tongue-in-cheek, like all the best Gorillaz moments, you can catch up with the whole lot below.
It seems to be yet another hint towards that imminent new album. Back in July, Damon Albarn said that Gorillaz’s new album will be “ready fairly soon,” adding “I’m loving it.” Illustrator Jamie Hewlett has been teasing studio footage as of late, too, and they’re apparently working with Vic Mensa on the new album. Snoop Dogg and De La Soul will also feature.
After previously being touted for a 2016 release, Gorillaz’s “really fuckin’ special” new album is now due out next year.
